Who we are
LioByte operates from India. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit this website or contact us. For privacy questions and requests, email hello@liobyte.com.
Information you provide
When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address and message, plus your phone number and company or website if you choose to provide them. Phone numbers are checked against country numbering rules; this does not verify ownership. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information or confidential project material through this form.
How we use your information
We use enquiry details to respond, discuss your requirements and manage the resulting business conversation. Providing a phone number lets us call about that enquiry. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We also use limited technical information to deliver the website, prevent spam and protect its security.
Our basis for processing
Where applicable law requires a lawful basis, we use the basis appropriate to the activity: taking steps you request before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and securing the website, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Optional tracking waits for consent in regions where prior consent is required. Where our configuration and applicable rules permit, it may start with notice and an opportunity to opt out. A regional default is not recorded as your consent.
Analytics and session recordings
When enabled for your visit, Google Analytics 4 measures website usage and events such as opening the enquiry form and successfully submitting it. Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings of page interactions. These services may process technical information including IP addresses, device and browser information, page URLs, identifiers and interaction data. We do not intentionally send enquiry field values to either service. The enquiry form and its confirmation are masked for Clarity. Website measurement is configured with advertising permissions denied; an analytics choice does not give permission for advertising.
Cookies and your choices
Use Privacy & cookie settings in the footer to manage Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity separately. You can reject optional tracking and still browse the website or send an enquiry. We remember a choice for up to 180 days using a first-party cookie and, where available, local browser storage. We ask again when that choice expires or the preference-policy version changes. If the browser blocks storage, your choice may apply only to the current visit.
Regional defaults and browser signals
Initial tracking settings depend on the approximate country and, where relevant, state supplied by our hosting provider and the regional rules configured for this website. We do not request precise device location for this. If the region is unknown or has not been enabled for default-on tracking, optional tracking waits for a choice. A saved rejection takes priority over regional defaults. We treat Global Privacy Control as a request to keep both optional services off. Turning off active tracking refreshes the page to stop the running services; it does not undo information already processed.
Storage used by this website
The liobyte-privacy-v1 cookie and local-storage entry remember your privacy preferences for up to 180 days. If Google Analytics is enabled, _ga and _ga_* cookies identify visits; this site configures their lifetime to 180 days. If Clarity is enabled, its first-party _clck cookie normally lasts one year and _clsk normally lasts one day. Browser settings can shorten these periods. Our site removes accessible first-party analytics cookies when optional tracking is withdrawn. Providers may use additional storage according to their configuration and policies; their documentation explains their current practices.
Service providers and international processing
Our hosting and email providers process information needed to serve the website and handle enquiries. The enquiry delivery integration uses Resend when configured; spam protection uses Upstash when configured and sends short-lived keyed hashes rather than enquiry text or raw email addresses. Sanity serves public website content; enquiry details are not stored in its public dataset. This website also requests fonts from Google Fonts, which exposes connection information such as your IP address to Google. Google and Microsoft process optional analytics information when their services are enabled. These providers may process information in India or other countries. Where required, international transfers must use applicable safeguards and provider arrangements.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond, manage an ongoing relationship, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. Technical rate-limit entries expire after 15 minutes. Analytics and recording retention also depends on the provider and account settings. You can ask us about the retention applying to your information or request deletion. We restrict access to enquiry handling and use server-side validation and delivery credentials. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information, obtain a copy, restrict processing, object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain sharing. Email hello@liobyte.com with your request. We may need proportionate information to verify it. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. You may also contact the relevant privacy regulator, including your European supervisory authority, the UK ICO, the Australian OAIC, the South African Information Regulator, or the relevant authority in your jurisdiction.
Children and changes to this policy
This website and its enquiry form are intended for business audiences, not children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it. We may update this policy when our services or practices change; the date on this page identifies the latest published version.
